The Chairpersons of the Energy committees of the EU parliaments will meet in Sofia

The Chairpersons of the Energy committees of the EU parliaments will meet in Sofia. The conference, which is part of the Parliamentary Dimension of the Council of the European Union, will start on 14 May 2018 at 8:84 am in Hall 3 of the National Palace of Culture.

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria, Tsveta Karayancheva will welcome the participants in the meeting. The Chairperson of the Energy Committee Delyan Dobrev will also address them with introductory remarks.

Keynote speakers in the first session of the forum – “Energy infrastructure and secure supply” – will be Vladimir Urutchev, member of the European Parliament and member of the Industry, Research and Energy Committee (ITRE) of the EP, Catharina Sikow-Magny, Head of Unit for Networks and Regional Initiatives in the Directorate-General for Energy (DG ENER) of the European Commission.

The Chairman of the Committee on Economic Affairs of the German Bundesrat, Franz Josef Pschierer, Senator Silvia-Monica Dinică from the Romanian Parliament, as well as the Deputy Minister of Energy of the Republic of Bulgaria, Jecho Stankov will speak on the topic of “Transition to clean energy in Europe”.

In the third session – “Market integration of the sustainable energy sources” keynote speakers will be: the Vice-Chair of the Industry, Research and Energy Committee (ITRE) of the European Parliament, Jaromír Kohlíček, the Chair of the Energy and Water Regulatory Committee of the Republic of Bulgaria, Assoc. Prof. Ivan Ivanov and Meglena Rusenova, Chairperson of the Bulgarian Photovoltaic Association.

 

The meeting will be broadcasted live on the internet site of the Parliamentary Dimension of the Bulgarian Presidency - https://parleu2018bg.bg/bg.

Photographers and operators who want to take protocol pictures of the meeting will be allowed to enter Hall 3 at 8:35 am. Journalists will be able to watch the meeting from the press room – Hall 4.
